Description

Suddenly she felt a huge rush of force and a splash. She opened her eyes it was him.

King Kallinos was no stranger to the city of Sybios. As a young man he had fought alongside King Pericles and the two had formed a fondness and friendship which never faded.

Kallionos had returned to the city on his journey back from Delphi as he had done many times over the years. The joyful streets were now soulless and mourning its lost sons and none more than his dear friend. He joined him in the palace once full of light and joy now dark and dour.

Godlike Kallinos was the grandson of Poseidon to his grandmother Penelope. To his enemies he was a terrible site but to Pericles’ children years ago, he was a gentle giant with fantastical tales of monsters. The little princes would attack him as he pretended to be some monster. The girls would ride on his back as he would nay and snort.

But little Nephy the youngest was his favourite. She would play with his long locks which he wore in those days and beard combing them, braiding them. She would talk to him for hours and he would just listen. She was to him the North Star in a dark night.

As soon as he heard of the lost war with king Tychon and what his friend had down. He raged. He mourned the dead princes but it is a short life for men of war but Nephy was innocent. He focused his rage on his enemy and set off without hesitation to save Nephy or avenge her.

He had not stopped for two days. He heard the beating heart of the drums. She was already down there. He could not risk the stairway. By the time he would have killed King Tychon and his men she would be dead.
Spear in hand he reached the edge of the cliff. The beast was climbing onto the rocks below and he heard her welp. His heart missed a beat and prepared to leap down.

At this moment Athena stood beside him and whispered into his ear for he could not see her “Hear me Kallinos and fight this beast in the knowledge that I am with you and I give you the strength of your grandfather and divine enchantment so your spear of sharp bronze can stab through its hide. GO now”

He jumped and spun around to land on the beasts head. The force and his weight smashed it skull into the ground. He regained his footing before the beast could recover and with a roar his spear struck deep and true.
